Zanimljivo je vidjeti kako je npr. CIA analizirala ratne zločine za vrijeme rata u BiH. Za veliku većinu zločina su krivili Srbe, a za Hrvate i Bošnjake su navodili da nema dokaza o planskom etničkom čišćenju. Broj njihovih zločina su uglavnom navodili kao približno iste. Npr. u izvještaju iz siječnja 1995. piše:
"
Croats and Muslims have also committed atrocities during the Bosnian conflict, but their actions have consisted for the most part of discrete--though sometimes fierce--episodes that lack the sustained intensity, orchestration, and scale of the Bosnian Serbs' efforts."
"
Despite this record of offenses, there is no information nor pattern of events suggesting that either Bosnian Muslim or Bosnian Croat leaders have encouraged large-scale ethnic cleansing efforts to gain and hold territory."

Do 17. lipnja 1993, SAD je poslao osam izvještaja UN-u, prema kojem su Hrvati odgovorni za 5% zločina, a Bošnjaci za 7%:
"
As early as June, 1993, the U.S. Department of State had submitted to the United Nations eight reports on atrocities and war crimes in former Yugoslavia. Of the 347 incidents contained in the eight U.S. submissions, 304, or 88 %, were attributable to Serbs, 7 % to Bosnian Muslims, and 5% to Croats. The asymmetry in the number of victims was even more striking: the victims at the hands of Serbs numbered in the tens of thousands, while there were approximately 500 victims at the hands of Muslims and approximately 150 victims at the hands of Croats."

Još jedna analiza UN-ovih i CIA-inih izvještaja iz 1995. govori o 6% zločina počinjenih od strane Hrvata i 4% od strane Bošnjaka:
"
While it has been documented that crimes of war were committed by all sides to the conflict, the most exhaustive U.N. report, as well as an assessment by the United States’ Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), estimates the following proportions: 90% of the crimes committed were by Serb fighters, 6% by Croat fighters, and 4% by Muslim forces"

Od 5-6% zločina koji nisu dio nekog planskog etničkog čišćenja prema izvještajima do 1995., došlo se do 268 godina zatvora (+10 godina za slučaj prebačen sudu BiH) i nekoliko presuda za etničko čišćenje te presude za udruženi zločinački pothvat. Naspram toga, Bošnjaci su osuđeni na ukupno 5,5 godina za zločine u hrvatsko-bošnjačkom ratu.
Kako je došlo do toga? Prve presude Hrvatima u Haagu su bile na individualnoj razini, Aleksovski, Kupreškić i ostali, za konkretne zločine i bez političkih interpretacija i nekakvih planskih zločina. To dolazi tek u presudi Blaškiću, pa posljedično u presudi Kordiću.
