Dakle nije Nagel vs. Hegel, nego Nagel & Hegel. Evo npr. nekoliko formulacija:

"Consciousness is where organic nature acquires its highest point of concentration by reflecting upon itself and where nature as such thus becomes spirit. Spirit, in other words, transforms nature into a harmonious whole, and this transformative function is precisely what Hegel had from the beginning declared philosophy’s purpose to be."

George di Giovanni (u uvodu Hegelove Znanosti logike, Cambridge u. p. 2010)

"A central question for any student of Hegel is the relation between nature and spirit.
...spirit is “the truth of nature and therefore its absolute prius”. Clearly Hegel is not a reductivist or what would be termed today an emergence theorist, since the structures of nature point in the direction of spirit and spirit offers the more adequate explanatory categories for what is in nature. Hegel’s classic example of this is the inadmissibility of causal explanations for both physico-organic and spiritual life.
If body and mind (or soul) are not regarded as separable things or substances, then it may be that there is no “problem” to “resolve”.

Allen Speight: The Philosophy of Hegel

The Logic concludes with Absolute Idea, which is not, like being, beyond subject and object, but in a sense the union of the two. In other words, the Absolute Idea is idea of itself: as we shall see, it can be seen as a kind of purely conceptual or eidetic (idea-like) representation of self-consciousness, in which the object is the subject, and the subject object. Thus, in the end, the Logic becomes literally and explicitly what it has been all along: thought thinking thought. The initial, empty thought of ‘being’ finally reveals itself to be the thought of thought itself. For Hegel, ‘to be’ ultimately means to be Absolute Idea, the ‘selfaware’ concept.
