New Study Confirms What We Already Knew: America Has Become an Oligarchy
The study looked at 1,779 policy changes made between 1981 and 2002, and analyzed them according to three categories: what the median voter wanted, what the powerful lobbies wanted, and what the super rich wanted. It turns out that most policy decisions were made in accord with the political will of the super rich and the powerful lobbies, while the median voter only got what he or she wanted when it was in line with what the lobbyists and the super rich already wanted.
