The spin of the electron is not classical precisely because it does not dissipate.

One of the revolutions of quantum mechanics was the realization that electric charge (the electron) orbiting its nucleus can do that indefinitely without radiating (dissipating) its energy. The same holds for the spin of the electron, which is the primary source of magnetic effects.

The problem with moving charges within the Earth's core as the source of its magnetic field is that the charges would quickly recombine (electrons and ions) leading to zero net charge. Perhaps radioactive decay of the heavy elements continually replenishes the pool of uncancelled charges.

At any rate the source of the Earth's magnetic field is mysterious.

You know that the poles (North-South) have changed direction several times in Earth's geologic history?
