Star Wars Rebels je nadolazeca nova animirana TV serija kojoj je radnja smjestena 5 BBY (Before Battle of Yavin) izmedju Star Wars Episode III Revenge of the Sith i Episode IV A New Hope dogadjaja, o ratu protiv Galactic Empirea.
Premijerna special epizoda u trajanju od jednog sata ce biti prikazana ovog ljeta na Disney channel, dok se prikazivanje cijele serije ocekuje u nastavku u drugoj polovici ove godine na prebacenoj mrezi Disney XD.

Da podsjetimo, ''BBY'' je opci kalendar za Star Wars evente u cijeloj povijesti, i doticni event ''BBY'' u prijevodu Before Battle of Yavin je rat koji se odvija na kraju filma ''A New Hope''.

This year was known as Year 1,000 after the Ruusan Reformation and Year 3,653 after the signing of the Treaty of Coruscant.

Rebels executive producer/writer je Simon Kinberg (X-Men: Days of Future Past), a co-executive producer je Dave Filoni (Star Wars: The Clone Wars) i Greg Weisman (Young Justice).

Star Wars Rebels takes place in a time where the Empire is securing its grip on the galaxy and hunting down the last of the Jedi Knights as a fledgling rebellion against the Empire is taking shape. Details about the show are a closely guarded secret at this point.

Star Wars Rebels will be produced by Lucasfilm Animation, featuring many of the key talents that made Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Fans attending Star Wars Celebration Europe will be the first to get an exclusive look at the new series. Casting will be announced at a later date. Ginu kao patke tokom sezone lova, odaju dojam smotanih individua koji su tek jučer prvi put uzeli oružje u ruke. A u biti su biološki derivat jednog od najboljeg bounty huntera ikad, od malih nogu vježbama i treningom usavršavani da budu samo i jedino strojevi za ubijanje, preživljavanje i savladavanje praktički svih taktičkih izazova. To vrijedi za klonove iz prequel trilogije, no ne i za stormtroopere kojima su kasnije klonovi zamjenjeni. U osnovi, car je povukao klonove i unovačio obične vojnike.

Ne znam koliko su danas ljudi fanovi igri cak i ako je Star Wars naslov u pitanju, ali ovo toplo preporucam - ''The Force Unleashed II''
Prica o tajnom Darth Vaderovom uceniku nazvanom Starkiller koji posjeduje veliku moc, smjestena izmedju epizodi III i IV.
S obzirom da je i ''Rebels'' serija iz istog razdoblja, nadam se da ce i doticnog lika ubaciti u seriju, jer je odlican.

Starkiller ga malo sere jer ispada moćniji od Vadera sa onim svojim rušenjem Star Destroyera i sl. Kad je toliko moćan što nije svrgnuo Polpetu i Crnu Kacigu.

Ajde dobro da će bit dostupna, ima tu još prostora da se radnja spoji sa trećim nastavkom filma.

Kad je i gdje ponuđeno to objašnjenje za stormtroopere? Znači povukli su vojnike koji su bolje uvježbani nego itko u poznatoj galaksiji imajući u vidu brojke o kojima govorimo, programski odani da prate svaku zapovijed bez dvojbi, gotovo savršeni u svakom strateškom i taktičkom obliku. Da ih je car eto tako povukao je tako jeftino objašnjenje, valjda da bi se opravdala razlika između performansi stormtroopera iz originalne triologije i klonova iz novije triologije. Sve u svemu tom elaboracijom car ispada gluplji od Ave Karabatić.

Pretpostavljam da si ili citao synopsis ili igrao
Starkiller se je sukobljavao sa Vaderom, ali se ovaj uvijek izvuce kao macka s 9 zivota.
Ta Starkillerova scena rusenja Star Destroyera mi je jedna od najjacih kao i onaj intro trailer za Force Unleashed II prilikom ulaska u arenu sa AT-ST i Rancorom.

Bila bi velika steta ne snimit bar jednu sezonu o tom liku.

New Details and Character for Star Wars Rebels Revealed

Speaking with MoviePilot.de, Filoni says the series will see the return of classic Star Wars ships and he talked about how it differs from his previous work on "The Clone Wars."

"We will see many things that are famous to Star Wars, but have not appeared on screen in a while. Star Destroyers, TIE Fighters, and Stormtroopers - basically the Empire is back and that is a big change, since, for many years, we have only seen the Republic in action. The tone of the series is also different. The Clone Wars got very dark as we headed towards the end of the war and the downfall of the Jedi. Star Wars Rebels brings back the banter and faster pace that the original films were famous for."

Filoni also spoke about the setting for the series, the new planet of Lothal.

"Rebels takes place in the Outer Rim. The audience typically thinks of Tatooine as the place where Luke Skywalker grew up, when the Outer Rim is mentioned. We are on a more civilized planet, and one that profited from the Empire's existence in the beginning. Most of the stories take place on the planet Lothal, which is a grass planet with large monolithic stones on the surface. The look comes from some Ralph McQuarrie concept paintings that were done for the original Star Wars films. We tried to make Lothal look and feel like a planet that would have been in the original film trilogy. It's alien, but you feel like it's someplace that you could visit on Earth geographically. Hoth, Tatooine, and Endor are all like this, so we think it fits in well."

The only confirmed character for the series was the newly-created villain The Inquisitor, but now Filoni has revealed another character for the series, a droid named Chopper.

Freddie Prinze Jr. to Voice New Character Kanan on Star Wars Rebels

Originally rumored for a part in the series back in September, Lucasfilm has now revealed (via USA Today) that Freddie Prinze Jr. will be providing the voice of Kanan in their upcoming series "Star Wars Rebels." Kanan is described as a "Cowboy Jedi" in the new series, and after "Order 66" took place in "Episode III," he's not exactly keen to let people know that he's a Jedi.

"He's been forced to shove a massive part of his life under the bed, so to speak," Prinze said. "Is he living a lie? At a certain point, the lie kind of becomes the reality. And to suddenly be forced back into your Jedi ways, it'd be a bit of a challenge for him. And pretty awesome, too, when you can see what a Jedi can actually do."

Set between the events of "Episode III" and "IV" — an era spanning almost two decades never-before explored on-screen - "Star Wars Rebels" takes place in a time where the Empire is securing its grip on the galaxy and hunting down the last of the Jedi Knights as a fledgling rebellion against the Empire is taking shape.

That first movie opened with Darth Vader on a mission to crush the fledgling Rebel Alliance. Rebels will show why the Empire comes after them as hard as they do while having the good guys employ guerrilla tactics vs. shady arms dealers, war lords, intergalactic Mafioso and an army of Imperial Stormtroopers.

The Empire has taken hold of places such as the frontier planet Lothal in order to recruit folks as soldiers or build vehicles of destruction. And Vader has tasked the Imperial Inquisitor to search every corner of the galaxy and make sure the Jedi are gone for good.

The Inquisitor's a physically imposing threat, says Rebels executive producer Simon Kinberg, "but what's really terrifying is his ability to read people, understand their fears, prey on those fears and almost twist their perceptions so that they don't totally have control over themselves any more."

Kanan's crew is a capable bunch, though, down to their resident astromech droid C1-10P, nicknamed Chopper. Instead of a sweet, loving, innocent droid like the fan-favorite R2-D2, Chopper's "a grumpy, grouchy, more adolescent-behaving robot," says Kinberg.

"He's cantankerous because he acts like a grumpy old man most of the time," adds Prinze, who's given the translation of Chopper's bleeps and the bloops so he can respond to the character honestly in the recording studio.

"For an audience who maybe didn't grow up with it the way we grew up with it, (we're) trying to give them the same experience that we had when we saw Star Wars and Empire Strikes Back for the time in movie theaters: Blow their mind and immerse them in a way that they become lifetime Star Wars fans."

Unlike The Clone Wars, which moved around the galaxy a lot and also would switch focus between a lot of different character groupings, Rebels is taking a different approach. Explained Weisman, “We have a character who's our focus character, and then five other characters that make up this group of six rebels. Even within the first season, that cast expands, and there are more people, but the focus is still on this small group of rebels who are basically gadflies from the standpoint of the Empire they're fighting. The amount of damage that six individuals can do is probably pretty limited. But as they begin to build alliances and find allies and expand, the show gets bigger and bigger in scope. Again, that's true even in the first season, but even the first season is just the beginning. It's not like by the end of the first season the Rebel Alliance exists. I'd call that a spoiler, except I think it should be obvious. It's not like we get to the end of the first season and suddenly there's the Rebel Alliance. It's going to take us awhile to build that organization that was able to destroy the Death Star in cooperation and go to Hoth and all that stuff. So we've got a ways to go, for sure, but our show's still going to focus on these six core characters I would think throughout the whole thing, even as the scope increases in size, which it will, gradually."

Weisman’s enthusiasm for Rebels was clear, as he remarked, “We have these phenomenal voice sessions with, like I said, this terrific cast. We've gotten some incredible guest stars, some names you'll have heard of and some names that you won't have heard of, but you'll be wondering why you've never heard of them before once you hear what they are doing. The sessions are just such a joy because everyone on the show, from guest actors to regulars to storyboard artists to writers, are such huge Star Wars fans. It's just a thrill to be working on the project.”
