Koliko R rated serija imamo s nekim mainstream junacima? Plus to radi NBC.
U redu, u tom slucaju, koliko ima takvih serija danas koje su uspjesne?

To nema nikakve veze.

R = "Strong Brutal Violence, Pervasive Language, Some Strong Sexual Content, and Drug Material"

NBC Head Talks ‘Constantine’ & Potential DC Show Crossovers
Quote:
NBC’s upcoming ‘Constantine’ TV show will mix humor with horror, but don’t hold your breath for any ‘Arrow’ or ‘Gotham’ crossovers.

NBC’s dark and beautiful first season of Hannibal has won the network much respect for its ability to create high-quality horror television, but whether this is a fluke or a trend will be determined by the upcoming Constantine TV show that was optioned last year and got a pilot order last week. David S. Goyer (Man of Steel) and Daniel Cerone (The Mentalist) co-wrote the script and it shouldn’t be too long before production gets underway.

Deadline is now reporting that the network has tapped Neil Marshall, director of the 2005 British horror film The Descent, to helm the pilot.

Constantine won't be Marshall's first involvement with a TV show. He recently directed the pilot episode for Michael Bay's Black Sails, and directed Game of Thrones' acclaimed "Blackwater" episode. He has an additional episode of Black Waters, not to mention an episode of Game of Thrones: Season 4, coming up soon.

Rumor: ‘Constantine’ TV Show to Feature Blond Englishman as the Lead
Quote:
According to a completely unconfirmed report from Bleeding Cool, TV’s version of Constantine will not only be as blond as the character in the comics, he will also be “a Londoner” and will “talk in his accent.”

New ‘Constantine’ TV Show Character Names Revealed
Quote:
Thanks to KSiteTV, some new information has emerged regarding the characters who will appear in the pilot episode of Constantine. Four characters are currently being cast, the first of which is (unsurprisingly) John Constantine himself. Without a casting breakdown it’s difficult to say who they’ll be looking for, but previously we’ve suggested an Elementary-style set-up with a British Constantine travelling through America, as he did during Brian Azzarello’s run of “Hellblazer” comics.

Next on the list of characters to be cast is Chas AKA Frank William Chandler, Constantine’s best and longest-surviving friend and right-hand man. Chas is a middle-aged London cab driver and family man, so naturally in the 2005 movie he was played by Shia LaBeouf. He’s more or less essential casting for Constantine, but as with John there’s no telling how close he’ll be to the original character from the comics, or whether the writers will choose a younger or older version of him.

The last two names on the list seem to be original characters created for the show: “Manny” and “Liv.” Not much to go on there, but there’s a not-insignificant likelihood that Liv will be one of Constantine’s many love interests. Then again, if they stay true to the comics then Manny could be in with a chance as well.

‘Constantine’ Pilot to be Directed by ‘Game of Thrones’ Alum Neil Marshall
Quote:
Interestingly, Marshall’s more recent experience suggests that this could be what NBC is planning. He’s recently been making the move from film into television, having directed the pilot episode for Starz’ Black Sails (read our review) and the acclaimed “Blackwater” penultimate episode from season 2 of Game of Thrones (he’s returning for season 4) – two US shows which are filmed overseas with largely British casts.

Aside from the location issue, one of the other main concerns that fans have had is whether or not NBC will allow the show to contain the same kind of mature content as the comics. Bryan Fuller’s gruesome serial killer drama Hannibal seems to set a good precedent for some of the more bloody horror elements, but portraying sex or nudity might be more of a problem.

Constantine TV series promises to be funny and scary
Quote:
NBC have announced they intend to bring the story to the small screen, ordering a pilot which is set to be written by Man of Steel ... David S. Goyer.

Talking about the series, NBC Chairman Robert Greenblatt recently said: ““I don’t know the DC comic very well, but there is dark, interesting stuff in it, but it’s also got some witty banter. It’s a fun tone, although the supernatural stuff is scary.”

John Constantine is one of DC Comics most enduring and popular characters. The cynical, chain smoking, streetwise magician and occult detective was created by Alan Moore back in 1985 for one of DC’s longest running and most successful title, Hellblazer.

Matt Ryan je Constantine

Quote:
Welsh actor Matt Ryan (Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior) is finalizing a deal to play the lead in NBC’s drama pilot Constantine, from Warner Bros TV. Based on the characters in DC Comics’ John Constantine stories, the project centers on John Constantine (Ryan), an enigmatic and irreverent con man-turned-reluctant supernatural detective who is thrust into the role of defending us against dark forces from beyond. John Constantine is described as a working-lass Londoner with rakish good looks, scruffy blond hair, deadpan humor, and signature trench coat, who has been studying the dark arts since he was a teenager. When the daughter of a late friend is targeted by demons, Constantine steps in to save her. The project was written by The Mentalist executive producer Daniel Cerone and David S. Goyer, the go-to writer for Warner Bros’ feature DC adaptations who has co-penned The Dark Knight, The Dark Knight Rises, Batman Begins, Man Of Steel and the upcoming Batman vs. Superman.

Vezano za Matt Ryana:
Quote:
According to Deadline, it’s little known actor Matt Ryan (Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior). Along with Ryan’s casting, this news has provided us with a more defined character description for NBC’s John Constantine. Read it below:
“[A] working-class Londoner with rakish good looks, scruffy blond hair, deadpan humor, and signature trench coat, who has been studying the dark arts since he was a teenager.”

Ryan wasn’t a name included on our list of actors who could play Constantine, but he’s hardly a case of miscasting. And, okay, so he’s not naturally blond or from London, but it’s already more accurate to the source material than Keanu was. His largest role to date has been on the Criminal Minds spinoff, but to the gaming crowd, Ryan will be more familiar as the voice of protagonist Edward Kenway in Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag.

‘Constantine’ to be Set in New York; Papa Midnite is Series Antagonist
Quote:
It looks like this is exactly what NBC has planned, based on some new plot details from Bleeding Cool and the lead casting choice of Welsh actor Matt Ryan (the voice of charismatic pirate Edward Kenway in Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag).

Bleeding Cool previously broke the news that the show’s protagonist would be a blond Brit with a London accent, and according to the latest report from the site, the Constantine pilot episode will be set in New York and will feature Papa Midnite as its main antagonist. If the pilot goes well and Constantine gets a full series order, Midnite and Constantine will continue to face off against one another as the series runs on, with increasingly higher stakes.

In the comics, Papa Midnite is a New York mob boss and skilled voodoo practitioner cursed with immortality, who by turns finds himself fighting against and reluctantly allied with John Constantine. He has his own brand of powerful magic to combat Constantine’s trickery, which combined with their adversarial relationship could make for a compelling on-screen rivalry. In the 2005 movie adaptation he was played by Djimon Hounsou.

NBC’s ‘Constantine’ Series Gains Three New Cast Members
Quote:
Even though we still don’t know who’s going to antagonize the hard-drinking magician, occult detective, and con man, we now know – thanks to THR – who will stand in as his allies, confirming what previous character name listings have told us. Harold Perrineau (Lost, Sons of Anarchy), Lucy Griffiths (True Blood), and, perhaps most importantly, Charles Halford (True Detective) will all aid Constantine throughout his adventures battling the darkness. While the former two will play original characters created for the show, Halford will play none other than Chas Chandler, John Constantine’s longtime friend and sidekick from the comics.

Chandler has been a part of the Hellblazer mythos since the comic’s inception; he and Constantine have history together, pulling one another out of bad situations time and time again (although John repeatedly tries to hide the more dangerous elements of his life so as to protect Chas). Halford’s work on True Detective has been minimal, but he makes great use of his limited screen time as meth cooker Reggie. It’s a role that doesn’t suggest shades of Chas, but he’s a skilled actor, and should easily be able to prove himself in Constantine.
