Daj, daj, daj!

Back in June, we caught the first glimpse of Cary Fukunaga's first foray into dramatic television with HBO's “True Detective,” and since then we had the opportunity to chat with the “Jane Eyre” director about both his vision for the project and two topnotch leads, Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson. “I saw a stark bland American landscape, and two really strong male voices,” he said. “That for me was kinda the drive, to get into the psychology of two men—one more of a philosopher and the other a non-critical-thinking man, and just to play with that world and observe.” Well now, we've got a much clearer look at exactly what Fukanaga described for the show, it's very clear that his vision will be making it to the small screen intact.

Danas je premiere!

Jedva čekam ovu seriju. Na prvu me zainteresiralo, prvenstveno zbog McConaugheya i Harrelsona.
Sada vidim da dobre kritike samo pljušte.

Utisak jednog lika s imdba:

I've seen the first 3 episodes, and it's fantastic! It really feels like the unfolding of a novel as opposed to a traditional "hunt for a killer" series. The acting is absolutely STUNNING from both leads, with the writing and directing equally above average.

I'm curious to see how the general public takes to it. The first few episodes are very character driven (which is great), but it doesn't have that "cliffhanger ending" that hooks you in for the next one. This is not a bad thing at all. You'll be hooked purely based on the quality of what's on screen. But some people might need something more "Dexter" like to keep them watching.

As I said, this feels like a novel. So the best way to watch it might be one long 8 episode marathon when it's finished.

I hope the last 5 episodes are just as good as the first 3. If so, this will be a major awards contender for all involved.
