In the question what present Ali gave to him, he replies "Ali himself is the best gift" ... they ask how the senario will be continued in the series, and he answers "The senario will follow some thing that have been written." From the Tax Authority of Istanbul, has released the list of 25 most highly paid artists. In the list, there is Halit Ergenc, known for his role as Sultan Suleiman, who was ranked in 13th place. Ergenc's income reaches 2,500,000 Turkish Lira. He will pay tax 745,800 Lira. Last year, Ergenc was not included in this list.

The night before, the star of the series "Muhtesem Yuzyil" playing Sultan Suleiman, Halit Ergenc, along with his wife Berguzar Korel, have been in a place in region "Asmalımescit". After having fun, Halit Ergenc, hand in hand with his wife, walked till the metro station "Tunel" (linking areas Beyoglu and Karakoy) and the people were passing by, shouting "Hooray, our king." Then they took a taxi and returned home.

Halitov intervju za egipatski casopis

A famous egyptian magazine called ''The Stars News" published an interview with Halit Ergenc after the great success of "Harem el Sultan" turkish series in the arab countries.

REPORTER: In "Harem el Sultan'' you are playng the role of a powerful,strong man..Was this the reason you accepted to play this role?

HALIT:The role was a great challenge to me,Sulieman's character is capable of changing the reality, but once he falls in love he becomes vulnerable. I can't deny that I hesitated much to accept such role,But at the end I decided that playing different roles is very important to change of the traditional roles which all turkish series discuss.

REPORTER: What do you think of all the critics made that the series showed Sulieman as a drunk man,fond & controlled by woman?

HALIT:70,000 complains were complied against the series to the turkish Radio &TV organization. Some protested infront of the channel -building showing the series. There is an important issue which none of them understood.... the series is discussing neither the political nor the historical life of Sulieman. We shed the light on the special,private,love life. We don't critizies or disgrace the ottoman period .

REPORTER: How did you feel towards these critics?

HALIT:I was very disturbed ,because they only saw the promo & before seeing the series,they pre-judged it. The events of the series are passion, romantic,fiction & not real as many think. This ,is what I have tried to declare several times,except that some viewers don't accept different opinins. Despite all this,I am very keen to communicate with my audience to know their opinions & attitude towards any role I play.

REPORTER:Is there similarities between Halit & Sulieman's personality?

HALIT:Yes,I am great fan of hand-made stuffs,like Sulieman,in my free time I take any chance to make things with my own hands. Both Suliman & I ,are strong right-defenders & even fight to the end until truth is revealed.

REPORTER: What are the difficulties you faced during shooting the series?

HALIT: War & dual shots were very tough. I broke my leg in 1 of these scenes,I should have been hospitalized for 6 weeks.

REPORTER: Did you expect such great success of the series in arab countries?

HALIT:No,at all. But I am very happy with their reaction towards the series & towards all the turkish series ,in general. I think this sucess is due to the common traditions between the arab & turkish.

REPORTER: How do you deal with your increasingly female-fans?

HALIT: I won't deny my happiness that I have many female-fans. I feel thrilled when a female-fan meets me & expresses her likeness & admiration to me.

REPORTER: After achieving such fame & sucess. Did your arrogance increase?

HALIT: Impossible. I insist on acting normally all the time. I don't feel or act as a famous star when I meet fans,viewers,or during TV & journal interviews.

REPORTER: Concerning your private life,rumors say that due to your occupment in the series..you neglected your wife & this arose differences between you & her?

HALIT:This is totally untrue & false. Berguzar Korel ,my wife,Ali,my son and me are in our happiest days of our life. Each of us is proud of the sucess of his partner.

REPORTER: I will like to congratulate Berguzar through this interview for the sucess she achieved in her series BBG in turkey & arab countries

Yesterday Halit Ergenc visited the Production Company.
He had parked his car outside the office of the Production Company and coming out, he saw reporters surrounding his car and thinking that they would record what's inside the car, said "What you are doing is wrong. I remembered that I had left the notes for the script in the car, but fortunately the file was upside down and it didn't show anything". "This was not our purpose," the reporters answered. When they asked him, if Sener Sen will play in the series with the role of the architect Mimar Sinan, Halit said "The series refers to a long time reign. They bought a luxury apartment in Göktürk Doğa Country neighborhood worth 1,000,000 Turkish Lira.
Halit Ergenc and Berguzar Korel wish to invest their money in real estate. A close friend told them how beautiful neighborhood is Göktürk Doğa Country and a few months ago bought a house there. When they did the contracts, they discovered that the famous singer Hande Yener lived there. She left this house, because she moved to the region Cihangir but her son continued to stay ther, who will leave at the end of the month. Then the new owners will make repairs. The house is 201 m2, has got four bedrooms, a living room and three big terraces. Rumors say that the former owner sold the house over 600,000 dollars but the famous couple has negotiated and bought it 520,000 dollars.

On the event there will be 150 people, and all funds will go for building a children's village in Izmir, which will be named ''Meral Okay''.Timur Savci said that last year, with a similar event, they opened village Bolluca Çocuk Köyü, and Meral was sacrificed to run for this event. This year, they wanted to do more, and they have opened a new village with Meral's name. Halit Ergenç said: This is a collective work. Meral,was a person who knew how to touch everyone's heart.Our new project was initiated and inspired a huge response. However, this is pretty emotional for us. Savci Timur said that he did not expect to lose her so early and that they found out that she was struggled with cancer before last year's charity dinner. Many insisted her not to be on that evening and though mentally she was in very poor condition, she went. Meyrem told that the same night last year Meral told them about her illness. Meyrem and Halit will be wearing the same costume worn in the series, while slaves and soldiers will be fill the scene. The organizers will give the opportunity to the people to tour the entire set. HALIT AND MEYREM WILL SING A SONG TOGETHER, and they prepare for this for a long time. The village will be 1000m2, it will have 10 family houses and four administrative and social buildings. Meyrem said that her parents are still with her, but there are children who do not know what means to have parents. The Foundation will offer hospitality to children from 0-6 years,because this is a very important period for there growing. They are very happy to give them support and she emphasizes that she often prays for justice in the world. Halit said that he hopes that he will have the opportunity to work on similar events and projects in the future. Given the fact that he knows how hard is to raise a child,he said that he have seen his parents what they passed during his upbringing. He said that raising a child without one of the parents is very difficult, and without parents it's impossible. On the 6th of June, during the last broadcast episode of the Magnificent Century at the bottom of the screen will be display text messages for support of the campaign for the village. They announced that the aim is to collect 500 000 lirs from visitors and sponsors. In the following year, in June before the broadcast of the last episode, they hope that all together will visit the children's village. Meyrem added that she hopes for 750 000 lira.
