The team will always come first says Ferrari Despite the new ban on team orders
Despite the fact that team orders have now been banned from the Formula One series, Ferrari insist that the overall performance of the team will always come first before the interests of their individual drivers. Therefore the practice of team orders will continue to take place within the Italian squad, in some form or another.
"For us, the team is the number one element. To win in F1 you need the right mechanics, the correct strategy, the best suppliers, the top drivers - the whole team, in other words," president Luca di Montezemolo said. "Team orders have always been in the spirit of the sport. In cycling and long distance running, team orders are always prevalent - but nobody complains there. There needs to be a middle- ground, but we cannot forget how important the teams are. I will never allow an individual to think for his best interests and then to the team. We'll respect the public and the sport, but the drivers need to think of the teams' interest before thinking of their own gain."
Formula One erupted early this season when Rubens Barrichello was forced to make way and allow his championship winning teammate Michael Schuamcher claim the victory. Amid the boos, team bosses insisted that the move was for the good of the championship and they went on to wrap up both titles with ample time to spare. As a result, the F1 commission vetoed the use of team orders in 2003 placing the onus on Stewards to enforce the ban.

nema se tu mnogo za razmisljati.
montezemolo je potpuno u pravu, time su se koristili timovi i prije, koriste se i sada a koristit ce se i u buducnosti, na ovaj ili onaj nacin.
osobno sam smatrao, sto se do kraja sezone i pokazalo tocnim, schumacheru ona sporna pobjeda nije bila neophodna no ferrari je igrao na sigurno i u potpunosti uspio u ostvarenju zamisljenih ciljeva a mozda i vise od toga. prigovaraju samo nemocni i ljubomorni.
ukoliko se, recimo, rubinhu ferrarijeva interna pravila ne svidjaju moze raskinuti ugovor pa neka izabere neki drugi team u kojemu ce se slobodno boriti za naslov...
